To All Doms - Dom vs Dominant In your opinion, what is the difference between a Dom and a Dominant???? This might help the ones that have labeled their profiles DOM and they are not one. I have met 39 Doms in the past three and I want to make clear, I did NOT play with ALL 39 Doms. For those of you that I have met that are reading this, I apologize. This is not meant to point anyone out and piss them off. I have met Doms and I have met Dominants and I have met men that are neither and just wanted a fuck. I have chatted with a large number that never made it to meeting me. After so many, I starting to see the difference. Before I point out the differences, I would like to have your feedback first. Thank you for responding. - Maggie |

I see I have stumped you Doms on this one. I asked a Dom the same question after a session. He didn't understand my question. He said a Dom is a dominant. I explained what I have run into trying to find a Dom. Dom - A Dom is experienced in the control and dominance with a submissive. He has owned a submissive, collared, contract, training, tasks and control when not together and communication daily. He has an inventory of toys/furniture for the sessions with his submissive. He is in control of himself, confident and has his shit together. A Dominant - A dominant in the swing lifestyle, likes rough sex and control in the bedroom. No commitment. Please Doms, may I please have your thoughts on this? Thank you, Maggie

Thank you arero for your response. I have met Masters before and they are more of a Master/slave scene. Slave, as in...clean this, clean that, polish his boots and leather toys, wash his Harley, make him meals.....Sorry, that's not what I'm looking for. I have come to an understanding that among Doms there are Daddy Doms, Master Doms, Life Partner Doms, and the one that found me - Disciplinary Dom (zero tolerance). After meeting 39 Doms in the past three years....I still search for the one that has that magic to understand me and handle me.

Dominant is to me a personality trait... An assertiveness...a commanding presence. I believe a Dom is a person who acts in a dominate manner, who exercises control assertiveness One can be dominant without being a Dom.... But a Dom is always dominant with his submissive
