Poetry in motion Day 29

April is national poetry month and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing songs, well lyrics of songs, that I consider pure poetry. Poetry in motion as it were.

If you've been swept away by a poem, whether or not put music and can help sweep us away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion/poetry in motion as well.

Special thanks drmgirl622, 4Faksake, inderiominx, jenny, mockyloks, tsarah, who have offered suggestions or shared their selections.....It is greatly appreciated!

Sometimes I make a move, sorry to leave my home, but hope I will find another of equal character.
At night I gaze at the starry mass with no idea to which one the earth attached.
May'be that cute little one over there or that one that sits alone in the inky black

We all have them don't we? Those poems as songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling!

When I was fourteen I was falling fast
For a blue eyed girl in my homeroom class
Trying to find the courage to ask her out
Was like trying to get oil from a waterspout

What she would have said I can't say
I never did ask and she moved away
But I learned something from my blue eyed girl
Sink or swim you gotta give it a whirl

Life's a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go

The longer I live the more I believe
You do have to give if you want to receive
There's a time to listen, a time to talk
And you might have to crawl even after you walk

Had sure things blow up in my face
Seen the long-shot, win the race
Been knocked down by the slamming door
Picked myself up and came back for more

Life's a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go

John Michael Montgomery "Life's A Dance"
Songwriters: Steve Seskin / Allen Shamblin

I too remember those awkward teenage years

These are very nice lyrics

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. George Bernard Shaw

It's a good song both as a lesson to the young and as a reminder to those of us who are well past it.

I get the music jamming. I've been listening to more than usual as well.

I wanna know why mobile phones dont have a solar eye as well. Calculators had them n the 80's. While they didnt need the kind of power a smart phone does, a slow creep up charge during daytime cant hurt. Of course then you wouldn't have to go buy a new one up North as often.

Festermites? Thats a cool yet squirmy name

Oh! I'd never heard of that song or artist, before. Thank you, that was a really good song share, sweetie.

I absolutely agree. The best lessons were found without me seeking so I'm glad I recognized some of them for what they were. Even if long after the fact.

Oh Jenny, I don't think any of us can forget those first awkward attempts at doing grown up things can we? Its a miracle we survived ourselves to make it this far into naughtydom

It's amazing the amount of things that are marketed as green energy. On Earth day, my in box was flooded with ads from every online shopping site I've ever used. Best Buy was especially fervent.
The thing was, anytime I tried to follow the links, the things it took me to required multiple purchases of different parts that would all be needed to work together ie a portable battery, solar cells, adapters. Why wouldn't they bundle things for actual use? Corp America does not want to do their part to save the planet and its life, it only seems to want to save its own profits.

I dunno where I got my solar phone charger from. I know it was free, Marlboro probably, but honestly, I've only used it once when I was driving for several hours so I could leave it on the dash to charge, otherwise it is so ineffective it couldn't be an option for regular daily use except maybe while off the grid camping.

2 moons? Are you sure you weren't looking at a person not a planet? Got a big ol wormhole there too if alt pics are anything to go by.

Music and a breathable atmosphere....yeah, I think I'll stick with that for now
