*nods* I have a hankering to reconquer one of our western Pennsylvania trails in the next few years. I hiked it for the first time when I turned 40. Kind of a vision quest now. Good on your former teacher. I'll bet he tackled it for a similar reason.

"The last camel collapsed at noon." Opening line to The Key To Rebecca by Ken Follett. First thing that came to mind as I wondered if all the mules that take people down into the canyon had died, which is the only way I would make that hike.
